Mr. Lowery graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology and a minor in Business Administration in 1977. He then began his career as a police officer in St. Louis County before transitioning to the United States Secret Service.

Following the completion of thirty-five (35) years in a successful career in law enforcement, Mr. Lowery retired as the Special Agent in Charge of the U. S. Secret Service and Customs and Border Protection Internal Affairs.  Mr. Lowery received numerous performance recognition awards throughout his Secret Service career. In 1985, he was awarded the U. S. Secret Service Medal of Valor Award, the Agency’s highest award.  In 1986, Mr. Lowery received the Department of Treasury, Secretary’s Certificate. Mr. Lowery was appointed Senior Executive Service by Office of Personnel Management.

Mr. Lowery moved into the private sector and served as the Vice President of Security for an oil and gas company. In this position, Mr. Lowery developed the company’s first safety and security program including corporate and family office responsibilities.  In this capacity, Mr. Lowery also facilitated pre-advance work and executive protection for international travel for executives and their family members.  Assignments included travel in Europe, India, and Africa.

Mr. Lowery expanded his career by establishing Lowery & Associates Security Consulting, LLC., in 2014, so others may benefit from the experiences and knowledge Mr. Lowery developed during a very successful career in the risk, safety, and security profession.  Lowery’s field tested expertise has been refined in some of the most challenging environments and difficult circumstances throughout the world, and he has now made his professional proficiency available to other organizations in a consulting capacity.
